Marist College North Shore is a Year 7 to 12 boy’s school in North Sydney. The College provides Catholic education for approximately 788 boys.
The recently launched enrolment policy has increased enrolments, particularly in Year 7 and these numbers are expected to settle at 144 boys per year for a total ultimate population of 864.
Munns Sly Moore Architects were commissioned to prepare a review of existing facilities particularly the classrooms, science laboratories, arts studios, music and drama rooms and staff accommodation. Following this review a masterplan was prepared to assist in the development of a strategy for future planning of new buildings and refurbishment of existing buildings. This masterplan will ensure delivery of continued quality learning into the 21st century within a campus that is structured to accommodate the anticipated needs of the school over the next 5 to 10 years.
Additionally, a specialist educational consultant, was engaged to prepare an educational brief in consultation with the school executive and the teaching and learning committees. The educational brief has identified the aims and aspirations of the school and guided the Architects in the identification of priorities for the masterplan.
Stage one of the masterplan will provide for new learning spaces, science facilities and refurbished staff areas and student learning spaces. Additionally a new student entry will be constructed to provide a more identifiable and welcoming arrival.
