LOCATION: COOMA, NSW
CLIENT:university of canberra
PERIOD:2011
Munns Sly Moore Architects were engaged to prepare a masterplan for a new campus to be located on the urban fringe of Cooma. The landform for the site defined areas suitable for development, with a central hill as the focal point for the layout. The masterplan created a campus that provided social, academic, administrative, residential and research development to be developed by the university, and community and commercial partners. The plan created a central heart for the campus, with the development extending along a central shared road. New landscape elements created development zones within the campus, while new planting provided a defined edge to the Monaro Highway. New entrances and internal roads provided linkages within and to the site, and the existing urban fabric.
